COVID-19 Statistics Update, October 28, 2020

OSWEGO COUNTY – According to the Oswego County Health Department, as of 3 p.m., there have been two additional cases of novel coronavirus (COVID-19) since yesterday.

The cumulative reported number is 776 cases across the county and of those, 737 have recovered and five have died.

SUNY Oswego reported no new cases today.

“Over the last few weeks, COVID-19 has continued to spread across the county,” said Oswego County Public Health Director Jiancheng Huang. “We’ve seen small clusters in families, households and groups; in mostly adults of varying ages; and in communities large and small… We need to be cautious about increasing our activities, especially with the holiday season upon us. Everyone must remain diligent in practicing prevention measures. Frequent hand-washing, face-masking and social distancing – even with close friends and family members – are the best tactics to help contain the spread of the coronavirus as well as seasonal influenza.”   

Today’s statistics are below:

Oswego County:[1] (as of 3 p.m.) Note, the total number of positive cases is cumulative since March and the number of recoveries and deaths are of those numbers. SUNY Oswego cases are included in the county numbers, however, the county tracks only those living in Oswego County. That means that students who chose to leave and go back to their home county and test positive there will be included on the college’s dashboard, but not the county’s. Their positive result would be reported to their home county, not here.

  • Total # of active cases: 34 (yesterday: 39)
  • Total # of positive cases: 776 (yesterday: 774)
  • Total # of recoveries: 737 (yesterday: 730)
  • Total # of hospitalizations: 33 (no change)
  • Total # of deaths: 5 (no change)
  • Total # tests: 61,498 (yesterday: 61,073)
  • Total # of negative results: 60,536 (yesterday: 60,119)
  • Total # of people in mandatory isolation/quarantine: 245 (yesterday: 212)
  • Total # of positive antibody tests: 88 (as of Oct. 22)
  • Total # of negative antibody tests: 3,448 (as of Oct. 22)

    • students living on-campus: 4 (no change)
    • students living off-campus while taking classes on-campus: 0 (no change)
    • employees working on-campus: 0 (no change)
    • students living off-campus learning remotely: 2 (no change)
    • employees working remotely: 0 (no change)
  • Total number of on-campus quarantine rooms occupied: 15 (yesterday: 14)
  • Total number of on-campus isolation rooms occupied: 2 (no change)
  • Total number of off-campus students in quarantine: 13 (yesterday: 11)
  • Total number of off-campus students in isolation: 2 (yesterday: 3)
