COVID-19 Statistics Update, September 19, 2020

OSWEGO COUNTY – According to the Oswego County Health Department, as of 3 p.m., there have been 27 additional cases of novel coronavirus (COVID-19) since yesterday.

The cumulative reported number 546 is cases across the county and of those, four have died.

Twenty-two of the new cases are associated with the SUNY Oswego community.

“The Oswego County Health Department is aware of the differences between the SUNY Oswego and Oswego County COVID-19 dashboards,” said Oswego County Public Health Director Jiancheng Huang. “This is due to different scopes and timing in reporting. The college’s dashboard includes all students, including students from different counties, whereas the county’s dashboard includes only those who are living in Oswego County. Students who went to their home county and tested positive there are included in the college’s numbers but not Oswego County’s. Also, the county and the college have different working procedures and cut-off times for reporting.”

  • Total # of negative results: No data released today (yesterday: 43,122)
  • Total # of people in mandatory isolation/quarantine: No data released today (yesterday: 381)
  • Total # of positive antibody tests: 83 (as of Sept. 17)
  • Total # of negative antibody tests: 3,310 (as of Sept. 10)

  • Total number of tests: 6,961 (yesterday: 6,917)
  • Total number of confirmed cases Sept. 12 to Sept. 25: 127 (yesterday: 103)
    • students living on-campus: 60 (yesterday: 50)
    • students living off-campus while taking classes on-campus: 49 (yesterday: 39)
    • employees working on-campus: 1 (no change)
    • students living off-campus learning remotely: 17 (yesterday: 13)
    • employees working remotely: 0 (no change)
  • Total number of students in on-campus quarantine: 121 (no change)
  • Total number of students in on-campus isolation: 51 (yesterday: 43)

The campus has voluntarily moved to remote learning Sept. 21 to Oct. 5.

The college has not released information on their dashboard regarding how many off-campus students are in quarantine/isolation.

  • Governor Cuomo has partnered with New Jersey Governor Murphy and Connecticut Governor Lamont to create a joint travel advisory for individuals traveling from states with significant community spread of COVID-19, requiring a quarantine for 14 days when visiting their states.
  • Based on each region’s infection rate, schools across New York State are permitted to open this fall but each school district must have a testing and tracing plan and will decide if an in-person v. hybrid model works best for them while following strict Department of Health Guidance.
  • Indoor dining in New York City will be allowed to reopen starting September 30 with a 25 percent occupancy but will be subject to strict safety protocols.
  • New York City restaurant patrons who observe violations can report issues by calling 833-208-4160, or by texting ‘VIOLATION’ to 855-904-5036.

  • New Yorkers without health insurance can apply through NY State of Health[9] through December 31, 2020; must apply within 60 days of losing coverage.
  • Health care workers can text NYFRONTLINE to 741-741 to access 24/7 emotional support services. Any New Yorker can call the COVID-19 Emotional Support Hotline at 1-844-863-9314[10] for mental health counseling.
