GRANBY, NY – Yesterday evening, at around 6:16 p.m., members of the Oswego County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to a motor vehicle accident on State Route 3 at the entrance to Walmart, in the Town of Granby.
Preliminary investigation has revealed that a 2008 Honda motorcycle was traveling east on State Route 3 when it collided with a 2014 Chevrolet pickup truck. The pickup truck, operated by Eric Phillips, 62 years of age and from Fulton, NY, was traveling westbound and making a left-hand turn into the entrance of Walmart. The operator, and only occupant, of the motorcycle was identified as Jeffrey Freeman, 40 years of age and a resident of the Town of Granby. Freeman was pronounced dead on scene. Phillips was transported to Oswego Hospital with minor injuries.
The Oswego County Sheriff’s Office were assisted on scene by the Granby Volunteer Fire Department, Cody Volunteer Fire Department, Fulton Police Department, Menter Ambulance, and Shameless Towing.
