Afternoon Fire Destroys Volney Barn, No Injuries

VOLNEY, NY-  Fire destroyed a barn at 940 Silk Road in the town of Volney Tuesday afternoon.

Emergency responders report the fire was called in at approximately 2 p.m. by the property owner.

The barns contained various pieces of lawn and farm equipment.

Fire units from Volney Volunteer Fire Corp., Palermo, New Haven, Scriba Volunteer Fire Department and Cody Volunteer Fire Department were called on to assist. Oswego County Ambulance Service – Menter supplied a rig for stand by.

The barn and its contents were destroyed, there were no injuries reported.
