by Contributor | August 4, 2012 10:47 am
The National Weather Service warns that Saturday’s combination of heat, humidity and light winds will make temperatures feel like they’re above 100 degrees Saturday afternoon.
Highs from[1] several[2] services[3] range[4] from 92 to 99 degrees for Saturday in Oswego County.
The weather service issued a heat advisory for the area, meaning that heat-related illnesses are possible.
High heat can be especially dangerous for the elderly, infants and those who are ill.
The weather service’s advice for the day:
- Drink fluids;
- Stay in air-conditioned rooms if possible;
- Stay out of the sun;
- Check on relatives and neighbors;
- Schedule outdoor work to early morning or early evening;
- Know the signs and symptoms of heat exhaustion[5] and heat stroke[6];
- Wear light and loose-fitting clothes.
