VOLNEY, NY – Fire crews remain on the scene of a fire earlier tonight (Jan. 8) at the Sunoco ethanol plant in Volney.

The fire was reportedly in an empty warehouse, that is going to be demolished, at the site.
It was reported shortly after 5 p.m.
Nearly a dozen crews were dispatched to the to the scene at the former Miller plant on Route 57.
The blaze was brought under control around 8 p.m.
Crews are still cleaning up and checking for any hot spots.
There were no injuries reported.
The cause of the fire is unknown currently.
