Fulton Common Council Tidbits: Looking for Cable TV Money

They’re checking under the sofa cushions for cash these days at Fulton City Hall.

The Common Council recently approved hiring a company called Computel Consultants to go through the city’s cable TV franchise agreement to see if the city was overbilled, said Mayor Ron Woodward.

The company keeps half of any money it recovers.

“We have no expertise in this,” explained Woodward.

The city’s been on a cost-savings push in the last couple of years, doing things such as replacing lights at City Hall to save on energy costs and combining or eliminating jobs to save on payroll and benefits.
