FULTON, NY – Sixth ward councilman Larry Macner announced the scheduling of a public hearing to be held in regards to a proposed parking change on North Second Street.
The change would affect the section of North Second Street from Oneida Street to Seneca Street where cars are currently able to park on the east side of the road with no time restrictions.
There are several local businesses located in this area including a breakfast diner, a barber shop, a pawn shop and a book store.
It had been brought to Macner’s attention by some of the business owners that some vehicles are parking in front of these businesses and remaining there for the duration of the day, hindering their business and their customer’s ability to park outside.
For this reason, Macner proposed to make a change to time limit parking and mandate a two-hour parking restriction for this section of road.
The public hearing will be held on May 3 and will take place after the pubic comment portion of the regular common council meeting starting at 7 p.m. at the Municipal Building located at 141 S. First St.
