FULTON, NY — When a five-year-old Fulton boy wanted to help the library he loves, his budding entrepreneurial spirit inspired him to do what kids can do when they want to fund a project – he offered to open a lemonade stand.

Declan Nickerson approached Fulton Public Library children’s coordinator Janelle Wallace with his idea. “I was touched when Declan came to me with the idea of a lemonade stand and his desire to give the money to the library,” Wallace said.

So, the young man and a few of his LEGO friends will be offering lemonade at the Fulton Public Library on Thursday (Aug. 28) and Friday (Aug. 29) from 1-4 p.m.

Wallace encourages the community to come and show their support for Declan, the library, and the LEGO club.

Lemonade will be 50 cents and all proceeds will be used to purchase more LEGOs for the library.

LEGO club is open to all, every Thursday at 4 p.m.

Wallace noted that on Sept. 18, Sam Crisafulli with Youth Works will be coordinating a “Back to School” LEGO event.

Call 592-5159 for more information, or check the library’s Facebook page.
