by Kassadee Bradshaw | October 28, 2020 9:55 pm

FULTON – Fulton Central School District announced tonight, October 28, that all sixth grade students and staff at Fulton Junior High School will be remote learning/working this Thursday and Friday after an individual working in the sixth grade wing was exposed to someone who tested positive for COVID-19.

Superintendent Brian Pulvino sent out the following message[1] to the district community:

Late this afternoon we were notified that an individual working in the sixth grade wing at Fulton Junior High School was exposed to someone who has tested positive for COVID-19. Evaluation of this exposure and contact tracing is in progress in both Oswego and Onondaga counties.

Out of an abundance of caution, we are transitioning all sixth grade students who attend Fulton Junior High School, and all sixth grade staff assigned to Fulton Junior High School to remote learning and work on Thursday, October 29 and Friday, October 30.

At this time, there was no known exposure to COVID-19 for any students or other staff at the Fulton Junior High. We will continue to work closely with the local health departments to complete contact tracing and assess any additional actions required to maintain the health and safety of our students, staff and community. We will communicate any changes to this plan as they occur.

Anyone experiencing COVID symptoms should stay at home and immediately contact their health care provider. Symptoms include: fever, chills, congestion, runny nose, loss of taste or smell, nausea, diarrhea, vomiting, headache or body aches. Anyone with questions or concerns about COVID-19 can also contact the Oswego County Health Department COVID Hotline at 315-349-3330.

We want to be sure all of our students continue learning during this temporary transition to remote instruction. Sixth grade students should log in to their morning meeting on Google meet at 9:10 am on Thursday and Friday. The link to the meeting can be found in their Google classroom. Your teachers will provide additional direction and support.

Please be sure you are taking precautions to prevent the spread of COVID-19 by wearing a face covering, maintaining at least six feet of physical distance and washing your hands or using hand sanitizer frequently.

Please feel free to contact me with questions or concerns at 315-593-5511.

Sincerely,
Brian T. Pulvino
Superintendent
