FULTON – Mayor Deana Michaels has released the following statement in regards to reopening the City of Fulton.

“I’m excited that we’ve entered into the re-opening phase of the coronavirus shutdown, but in recovery we must still adhere to all the safety protocols that have kept us safe and our numbers low. Physical Distance, wear masks, use hand sanitizer frequently, practice good hygiene measures and Fulton’s numbers will remain low through reopen and recovery.

Even as Fulton begins to re-open, we can’t relax.  Central New York won’t reach Phase 2 unless we continue to adhere to the safety protocols.  The Governor has set strict guidelines on what it takes for our Region to reach future phases.  Fulton has done a great job at social distancing, wearing masks and staying home.  We have to stay Fulton Strong and continue these practices.  In order to comply, City Hall will be opening in phases as well.

City Hall will begin reopening Monday, May 25 by appointment only for the Clerk, Chamberlain, Assessor and Code Enforcement Offices.

To make an appointment for the Clerk’s Office, please call 315-592-5390.

To make an appointment for the Chamberlain’s Office, please call 315-592-4340.

To make an appointment for the Assessor’s Office, please call 315-593-7267.

To make an appointment for the Codes Department, please call 315-592-7404.

When you make your appointment, you will be asked whether you have travelled recently, whether you have been in contact with someone who has had COVID-19 and whether you are experiencing symptoms of COVID-19.  Customers coming to City Hall will enter at the Police Station entrance and will be met by the person whom they’re visiting.  Customers will be signed in and asked those three questions again and have their temperature taken.  Customers will be asked to sign out when they leave.

I am proud of our Fulton community for being patient through all this.  I know it’s not easy and we all want to get back to life.  I’m asking you to all hang in there and continue being patient.  The phased re-open has to be done with great attention to detail and adherence to protocols.  We are Fulton Strong and we are in this together.  The tough decisions made are because I care about the wellbeing of each and every one of you.  We need to keep looking out for each other by social distancing, wearing masks in public and practicing proper hygiene.  We will get through this – stronger and better than ever.”
