After three weeks of glorious early summer weather the Mexico Farmers Market is off to a great start for the 2008 season. New to the market this year Thousand Islands Winery representative Mike Harwood will host tastings each week and offer wines for sale. The Chamber of Commerce continues to provide many free brochures, savings coupons, and event schedules for the greater Mexico area.

Each week two spaces are provided for non-profit groups free of charge. Call to schedule space for your group.

Steve and Anne Hutchins roll out the beautiful wooden old fashioned soda pop cart for all to enjoy. And of course the local produce is becoming plentiful ! Wonderful strawberries, rhubarb, and asparagus abound. Soon we will see the first local tomatoes. Vegetable, herb, annual and perennial flowers have all arrived.

Plenty of room exists for vendors and shoppers alike ! The market opens for business at 4 PM each Monday afternoon until October 13th at the Firemen’s Field on Main Street in the Village of Mexico. Closing time is 7 PM. Several dinner choices are available. For more information contact [email protected] or Bonnie Loforte at 315-963-0642.
