Fresh off a successful season of camping, the city of Fulton-owned North Bay Campground will raise its rates a little.
Fulton’s Common Council recently approved the rate hikes for the campground on the shore of Lake Neatahwanta. They are:
Alderman Dan Knopp said the increases were small but will help to bring the campground in line with other camping facilities. The one significant increase is the dump station fee. “Dumping fees were quite a bit below (other campgrounds’ fees),” he said. “We had some people coming in dumping horse trailers” because it was so cheap.
The campground pays for itself, said Mayor Ron Woodward. City officials said last year that the campground was enjoying record levels of use as people looked for inexpensive vacations that were closer to home.
