Police Accuse Richland Man of Raping Child

PULASKI, NY – A Richland man has been charged with a slate of sexual crimes against a child. Police said the abuse began in 2004.

[1]The State Police in Pulaski arrested Ritchie J. Schroeder, 40, of 941-B county Route 48, Richland, and charged him with first-degree rape, a felony; first-degree sexual abuse, a felony; and endangering the welfare of a child, a misdemeanor.

The investigation revealed that Schroeder engaged in sexual intercourse on several occasions with an 11-year-old female between March 2006 and September 2006. Police said Schroeder also engaged in inappropriate sexual contact with this same female child, since the child was 9 years old, beginning in 2004.

Schroeder was arraigned in Richland Town Court and remanded to the Oswego County Jail in lieu of $10,000 cash bail or $20,000 secured bond. He is slated to reappear Richland Town Court June 23 at 7 p.m.
