St. Lawrence County Clerk Patty Ritchie begins her run for State Senate Monday morning with a series of campaign stops that begin in Fulton.
She’ll make her candidacy official at a 10:00 a.m. appearance at the Tavern on the Lock restaurant in Fulton, then make a noon stop in Watertown and a 5:30 p.m. stop in Canton.
Ritchie, a Republican, will campaign to win the right to face Democrat Darrel Aubertine for the 48th State Senate district seat that includes most of Oswego County.
Ritchie has increased her visibility in the last year by heading a petition drive to repeal Gov. David Paterson’s plans to change the design of state license plates, something which would cost every driver $25 to swap the plates this year.
