An unusually large change is coming for the Fulton City School District Board of Education.
All three of the board’s six current members who are up for reelection this year have decided not to run.
Combined with the election to fill the unexpired term of recently-resigned seventh board member Janet Truong, voters will elect a majority of the board’s seats in May.
The three board members who are departing are veterans. Robert Ireland served a term as the board’s President. Dan Pawlewicz and Rae Howard have also decided not to run again.
Truong resigned in March, citing personal reasons.
The district will announce later this week the list of people who have qualified to run for the open board seats. Nominating petitions are due by Wednesday.
A district official said recently that quite a few petitions had been picked up by potential candidates.
