Water Main Break Closes Portion of Route 481 in Fulton

FULTON, NY – A water main break today (Feb. 12) has closed traffic in both directions on State Route 481 from Rochester Street to Oneida Street in Fulton.

As crews are on scene, resolution to the issue can be expected by tomorrow (Feb. 13) morning, DPW Commissioner Charles Smith III said.

Anyone traveling in this area can expect to take an alternate route.

Roughly 50 customers are without water at the time, according to Smith and Jodi Corsoniti, utilities bill supervisor.

Restored water services are contingent on repair of the water main break though  “many obstacles” could be encountered as work progresses, Smith said.

“We anticipate all customers will have water by tomorrow morning,” Smith said, also anticipating the reopening State Route 481 to all traffic in the affected area by this time.
