OSWEGO, NY – Predicting when an emergency will occur is impossible.  Being prepared for the emergency is essential.

The American Red Cross can provide you with the skills and knowledge you will need to respond to life-threatening emergencies with confidence.

On June 5 and 6 the Onondaga Oswego Chapter of the American Red Cross will be offering a Standard First Aid w/Adult CPR/AED at the Oswego County branch office.

The class will be held on the 5th from 5:30 – 10:30 p.m. and on the 6th from 5:30 – 8:15 p.m.

Participation in both nights is required for certification.

This class prepares lay responders with the knowledge and skills to act in an emergency situation.

The class helps participants to overcome any reluctance to act in emergency situations and to recognize and care for life threatening respiratory or cardiac emergencies in adults.

Among other skills participants will learn to care for choking victims, perform CPR, use and AED as well as give first aid for a variety of injuries and traumas.

The Oswego branch office is located at 333 W. First St.
