Young And Old, And Lots In Between, Are Taking Part in Fulton Block Builder Projects

FULTON, NY – At age 25, Kayli and Joe Maxam are the youngest homeowners taking part in this year’s Fulton Block Builder project.
That’s if we don’t count their daughter McKinley – age 10 months!
They have been thinking about painting their house but didn’t plan on doing it this year.
“We were only going to put in the new fence and paint the deck, but this project made it possible for us to do more. We love the historical colors the only hard thing was having to wait to spread new mulch until all of the painting was done,” smiled Kayli.
Joe and Kayli are natives of Fulton and never considered living anywhere else.
That is why when it came time to buy a house in 2013, they chose to purchase in Fulton.
Fulton is home to both and they love living here. They enjoy the small town, having family nearby and it’s an easy commute to each of their jobs in Syracuse.
They said this is a safe neighborhood and a good place to raise a family. FBB has helped them to know their neighbors better.
They enjoy talking when they are outside and they know where to go when they need a helping hand.
Since the couple started painting their house more people have been stopping to talk. Even Al Zaranka (the first FBB check recipient) rode his bike by the other day and stopped to say how nice the house looked.
“It makes us proud to have others notice the changes we are making,” said Joe.
The FBB Ambassador seen in the picture with the Maxam family is Kelly Niccoli. She has known Kayli for a long time as Kelly’s daughter swam on the swim team with Kayli.
“I hadn’t seen her in quite a while, but as soon as Kayli & Joe walked into Marion’s house for the first Block Meeting we reconnected. It’s been great catching up with old acquaintances. The Block Builder project is doing a tremendous job of bringing this whole city together. I love being a part of it,” said Kelly.
