OSWEGO COUNTY, NY – Despite an unusually warm stretch of weather in February 2017 that brought temperatures over 60 degree multiple days in a row, Winter Storm Stella has proven that winter is not over yet.
With the first official day of spring approaching next week (March 20,) a brutal nor’easter snowstorm has reminded New Yorkers what a typical winter in the northeast is made of.
According to the National Weather Service, as of 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday (March 15) Fulton had recorded 24 inches of snowfall.
Governor Andrew M. Cuomo declared a state of emergency[1] for all 62 counties throughout NYS in anticipation of the storm, even urging all non-essential state employees to remain home through the worst of it.
Cities throughout Oswego County and the state declared travel bans[2] due to unsafe road conditions and numerous local schools and businesses have closed due to worsening weather conditions.
