Lake Effect Snow Warning Until 1 p.m. Monday

OSWEGO COUNTY – The National Weather Service has issued a Lake Effect Snow Warning[1] for Oswego and northern Cayuga counties until 1 p.m. Monday afternoon.

According to the NWS[2], there will be heavy lake effect snow. Total snow accumulations of 7 to 10 inches in the most persistent lake snows. Greatest additional accumulations expected in central and southern Oswego County and far northern Cayuga County. Travel will be very difficult at times with deep snow cover on roads and very poor visibility. The hazardous conditions could impact the Monday morning commute. Heavy snow will fall in relatively narrow bands. If traveling, be prepared for rapidly changing road conditions and visibilities.
