OSWEGO, NY – An outpouring of donations have contributed to the family of Cammeo Lazzaro.
The Oswego City School District recently conducted a fundraiser for the Oswego High School senior who was seriously burned.
Cammeo remains in a Boston hospital burn unit.
[1]But, with the help of “Turquoise Days†in the district schools and education center $3,432.78 has been raised to assist the family with expenses.
Turquoise is Cammeo’s favorite color and everyone donated a small amount of money to wear turquoise colored clothing to school.
Chalet Dewey-Flint, a coordinator of the event, noted, “I spoke with Cammeo’s mother and she was extremely thankful for the tremendous outpouring from the community.â€ÂÂ
Dewey-Flint also noted, “According to her mother, Cammeo is still in a coma, but they have reduced the sedative so she opens her eyes one or two times a day. Her infection is gone and it is expected skin grafting will begin soon. They are hopeful of a full recovery in five or six months.â€ÂÂ
Once again the Oswego community has bonded together to support families in need.
