Officer Involved Shooting in Oswego County

OSWEGO – On March 21^st, 2025, at 12:09 PM, Oswego County 911 dispatched members of the Oswego County Sheriff’s Office and New York State Police to a call at 34 Cook Road in Constantia, NY, regarding a male “having a Psychotic Episode”.

While on scene a struggle ensued between the male subject and Law Enforcement Officers.   During the altercation, a New York State Trooper was struck with a metal object and received a minor head injury and was later transported to a Syracuse area hospital.  As the altercation continued, an Oswego County Sheriff’s Deputy discharged their service weapon striking the subject.   Life saving measures were administered on scene and the subject was transported to a Syracuse area hospital. The subject was pronounced dead at 2:28 PM.

Law Enforcement was assisted on scene by Cleveland Fire Department and Menter Ambulance.
