OSWEGO COUNTY — Operation Oswego County (OOC) has announced new titles and expanded responsibilities for three team members as part of a broader organizational growth initiative designed to strengthen economic development efforts across Oswego County.
Amber Miller has been named Administrative & Marketing Assistant, recognizing her growing contributions in both office administration and marketing efforts. Since joining OOC in 2024, Miller has become a welcoming first point of contact for visitors and a trusted support for staff. Her expanded role now allows her to play a greater part in promoting OOC’s mission, assisting with marketing campaigns, coordinating events, and supporting community outreach initiatives.
Karen Perwitz has been promoted to Finance & Compliance Coordinator, a testament to her 17 years of dedication and professional growth within OOC. Beginning her career as the organization’s receptionist, Perwitz steadily advanced through the ranks, mastering the complexities of finance, reporting, and compliance. In her new role, she will continue to safeguard the integrity of OOC’s and the County of Oswego Industrial Development Agency’s (IDA) financial and regulatory operations, while helping guide projects that receive financial assistance.
Nathan Emmons has been named Economic Development Manager, reflecting his growing leadership in business recruitment, retention, and project development. Since joining OOC in 2023, Emmons has been instrumental in advancing high-impact economic development initiatives and building strong relationships with local businesses. In his expanded role, he will lead efforts to develop key sites, manage real estate strategies, and secure funding opportunities that drive investment in Oswego County.
“These role changes reflect not only the dedication and talents of our staff, but also the evolving needs of our organization as we position ourselves for the next phase of growth,” said Austin Wheelock, Executive Director of Operation Oswego County. “Their contributions will be essential as we work to expand economic opportunities and strengthen Oswego County’s business climate over the coming years.”
