Oswego County Task Force Schedules Public Meetings On Police Reform

OSWEGO COUNTY – The Oswego County Police Reform Task Force has scheduled public forums Feb. 3 and Feb. 18 to gather input from citizens regarding police reform in Oswego County.

Public forums will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 3 in the Legislative Chambers of the Oswego County Office Building, 46 E. Bridge St., Oswego; and at 7 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 18 at the H. Douglas Barclay Courthouse, Broad Street, Pulaski.

Last year Governor Andrew Cuomo issued an Executive Order requiring all local police agencies in the state to produce and implement a police reform plan. 

“The purpose of the reform collaborative is to evaluate the existing police agency and produce a reform plan for approval by the Legislature,” said County Legislature Chairman Jim Weatherup (District 9, Central Square). “As part of this process, we invite residents to share their input and perceptions about the public safety needs of our community.”
