OSWEGO COUNTY – Oswego County Today presents the top stories from this past week.

City of Fulton news:

• The Fulton Lions Club installed its new slate of officers for 2021-22, inducted two new members, and President David Guyer received a special award from Rosemarie Bush, Lions Clubs International-NY State & Bermuda district governor, District 20-Y. Full story here[1].
• Oswego County Opportunities (OCO), Head Start Pre-K Program recently received a continuation grant from the US Department of Health and Human Services’ Office of Head Start. Full story here[2].
• Starting June 28, Oswego County Opportunities will continue to try and alleviate this pressure through partnering with 11 sites and the Summer Food Service Program to provide free meals to Oswego County children. Full story here[3].

City of Oswego news:

• The H. Lee White Maritime Museum at Oswego will be offering boat tours to the National Register Oswego West Pierhead Lighthouse starting June 25 and 26, each Friday and Saturday of the summer till the end of September. Full story here[4].
• Mayor Billy Barlow announced June 23 a communication system now available to city residents to assist with gathering information from city government, submitting complaints, and providing easy access to city documents, licensing, permits and other information. Full story here[5].
• In 2016, New York State’s Regional Economic Development Councils offered Oswego funding as part of the Downtown Revitalization Initiative (DRI). Since then, many projects have arose including the newly opened Riverwalk, a luxury apartment and retail building in the heart of the city. Full story here[6].
• The City of Oswego has provided select businesses COVID-19 Revival Grants, including $5,000 to Convergence Gaming, which is finally seeing some semblance of normalcy as it brought back in-person events, such as Magic the Gathering. Full story here[7].

• Governor Andrew M. Cuomo June 23 announced that New York will end the state disaster emergency declared on March 7, 2020 to fight COVID-19 beginning June 24. Full story here[12].
