SCRIBA – A body was recovered this afternoon (Sept. 25) in Lake Ontario. It is believed to be that of a Pennsylvania fisherman who went missing on Lake Ontario, according to the Oswego County Sheriff’s Office.
The body of 56-year-old Mark Deiter was found in about 100 feet of water. He was reportedly still in his boat that had sunk.
He was located around 1:42 p.m.
The two other men that had been in the boat jumped into the water, used floatation devices and a cooler to float until they were rescued shortly after the Saturday night incident.
Deiter ‘s body was taken to the Onondaga County Medical Examiner for a positive identification.
