Dr. Rev. Roger Martin is shown with Pat Sivers, a member of the committee that oversaw the building of the church, as they take part in a litany before the burning of the mortgage.

On Sunday, June 22, members of the congregation of Faith United Church, 12 Mark Fitzgibbons Drive (next to the Middle School), Oswego, held a celebration of New Beginnings.

Included in the church service were the reception of new members, recognition of college and high school graduates and extending best wishes to a parishioner retiring from her job.

In addition, the congregation celebrated the full payment of the building’s mortgage by burning a copy of the mortgage.
