OSWEGO, NY – At Monday night’s Planning and Development Committee meeting, Tony Leotta, zoning administrator, requested council approval for a new Best Western Conference Center and parking area located at 26 and 27 E. First St.

The Planning Board has offered a favorable advisory opinion for this project and it complies with the local Waterfront Revitalization Program.

The 33,818-square foot hotel expansion has an estimated $6 million price tag.

It would include a 450-seat conference facility, three smaller ‘breakout’ conference rooms, 18 luxury hotel suites, a 100-seat waterfront restaurant and expanded wellness spa.

One vacant parcel at 24 E. First St. and one fire struck building at 27 E. First St., vacant for more than a year, are the sites developed for the conference center and hotel expansion.

Demolition of the fire-damage restaurant will accommodate parking and auxiliary structures for the hotel and conference center.

The committee sent the proposal to the full council for consideration.
