Couple Charged With Welfare Fraud, Grand Larceny

OSWEGO, NY – On 8/21/12 at 10 a.m., John P. Russell, 33, of Birch Lane Bldg. 12E, Oswego, NY and Tammie L. Russell, 32, of Oneida Village Bldg. 107, Fulton, NY, were arrested for Grand Larceny, 3rd degree, a class D felony; Welfare Fraud, 3rd degree, a class D felony and Offering a False Instrument for Filing, 1st degree, a class E felony.

The arrests stem from the investigation into their alleged defrauding of funds in the form of Food Stamps with a value of more than $3,000 during the months of May 2008 until December 2008 from the Oswego County Department of Social Services.

Mr. and Mrs. Russell were arraigned by Hon. Judge Wells in Granby Town Court and ROR’d with a return to the Town of Mexico Court on 8/28/12.
