PHOENIX – Emergency repairs have been completed on a gate that is used to control water flow at the Phoenix Dam in Oswego County.

Crews have installed a steel-sheeted coffer dam that temporarily addresses structural concerns and will allow permanent repairs to be performed safely.

Oswego Canal locks O-1 and O-2, which had been closed as a precaution, will reopen on Sunday, June 16, at 7 a.m.

The entire state Canal System will then be open for navigation.

The state Canal Corporation will continue to work with the state Division of Homeland Security and Emergency Services, Oswego County Emergency Management, the village of Phoenix, the Army Corps of Engineers and the state Department of Environmental Conservation to address this situation.
