OSWEGO, NY – The FBI is investigating the Oswego County Clerk’s Office and its assocaition with Info Quick Solutions, the Clay company that has done business with the county.

Federal agents have subpoenaed records from the clerk’s office going back 10 years regarding its relationship with IQS.

The relationship was the focus earlier this year of a probe by the county’s bipartisan ethics committee.

County Clerk George Williams was cleared of any wrongdoing. But, deputy clerk Georgiana Mansfield was found to have violated rules that required her to disclose money she earned while working part-time for IQS over the cousre of a few years.

She repaid the county what she had earned.

The clerk’s office is to provide the FBI with the materials it requested by early June.

The FBI has been tight-lipped regarding its actions, according to County Legislature Chairman Barry Leemann.
