OSWEGO – The Oswego Fire Department responded to a reported structure fire at 7:37 a.m. today (Jan. 27) at Port City Logistics, located at 305 E. Seneca St.

The initial dispatch reported an excavator on fire in the structure.
Oswego Fire Department crews arrived on the scene at 7:41 a.m.
Fire officials reported the excavator was being dragged out of the building with another piece of heavy equipment.
Firefighters encountered some challenges with the high heat, flammable liquids spilling from the vehicle, and the hydrant some 700 feet away.
Multiple handlines were used to fully extinguish the blaze.
There were no injuries.
Assistant Fire Chief Jon Chawgo stated “The excavator was pulled outside the structure, certainly saving the building from sustaining damage. Our crew did a great job in challenging conditions.”
The cause of the fire is under investigation, and is not considered suspicious.
OFD crews were back in service at 8:53 a.m.
