OSWEGO, NY – Several projects in Oswego County will receive Regional Economic Development Council funding, Gov. Andrew Cuomo announced today (Dec. 13).
The CNY REDC selected 38 priority projects that were submitted to the State for funding through the CFA process.
A total of $21,203,550 in ESD grant funding has been requested by the CNY REDC. The total cost for these projects is $158,501,906, with the retention of 2,216 jobs and the creation of 582 jobs.
Below are the descriptions of the Oswego County projects.
Fulton Group NA, Inc. and A?liates will purchase a facility in East Syracuse; make renovations to facilities in Pulaski, East Syracuse and Syracuse; purchase and install machinery and equipment; and invest in research and development activities to develop new products o?erings.
They will receive $1,000,000 and $1,500,000.
Brockway Bedding, Inc. will construct and equip a new high-e?ciency manufacturing plant in the town of Granby to produce animal bedding from large ?ake wood shavings. The plant will produce a naturally antibacterial product using an environmentally friendly process and will include use of production waste to fuel a biomass burner to power drying equipment.
They will receive $325,000.
The city of Oswego will undertake exterior restoration of the historic 1870 City Hall by rebuilding all displaced masonry walls, replace gutters and leaders, and repoint the upper half of the building. The slate roof will also have missing tiles replaced.
They will receive $500,000.
Douglas Outdoors, LLC, will acquire, rehabilitate and equip a historic building along the Salmon River in downtown Pulaski, converting it to a manufacturing facility to produce high-end, composite ?shing rods and other advanced composite parts. The building will also house a state of the art R&D facility for research and advanced testing, a ?shing museum with a public casting dock and a restaurant.
They will receive $200,000 and $683,500.
Hudsons Dairy in Fulton will construct and equip a refrigerated warehouse facility for dairy foods, with an outside freezer that connects into the inside cooler. The project is designed to allow for more e?cient truck access, to ease storage problems and to allow the rotation of dairy and ice cream products.
They will receive $220,000.
North Ridge Dairy in the town of Sandy Creek, in cooperation with its related company Locust Hill Farm, will construct and equip a new facility to consolidate storage, movement and mixing of feed currently being handled separately by NRD and LHF. The project also involves building 1,000 feet of rail siding for delivery of feed components and temporary rail storage.
They will receive $212,000 and $267,500.
The Red?eld Snowmobile Association will purchase new snowmobile trail grooming equipment used to maintain 42 miles of recognized “High Snow” Corridor and Secondary snowmobile trails located primarily in the town of Red?eld.
They will receive $200,000.
The Square Valley Trailblazers will purchase a 2018 Tucker Model 1100 Narrow-Stance 5-173 Snow Groomer with regular cab and drags. The equipment is needed to groom more than 110 miles of the New York State Snowmobile Trial system.
They will receive $185,000.
The Town of Hastings will complete an engineering report to conduct an in?ow and in?ltration study for the wastewater collection systems serving the Caughdenoy Sewer District and Fort Brewerton Sewer District.
They will receive $30,000.
The town of Sandy Creek will complete an engineering report to identify solutions to provide sustainable wastewater treatment for the western portion of the town.
They will receive $30,000.
The village of Pulaski will complete an engineering report to identify current issues and prioritize options for system improvements.
They will receive $30,000.
Virgilio’s Event Centre, LLC, will expand a wedding and event venue in Volney. The project includes the construction of a 3,800+ square-foot outdoor covered patio, outdoor grill put area, 12 new cabins, water management and utility improvements, new pole barn, improved driveway, and more. The center’s target events will be weddings and corporate gatherings but the center will also be utilized for other events including car shows and open-to-the-public events.
They will receive $200,000.
The YMCA of Oswego, will construct a connector between two of its buildings to reinstate access to their swimming pool facilities.
They will receive$150,000.
