Head-On Crash Claims Life In Mexico

MEXICO, NY -State Police in Pulaski are investigating a fatal head-on crash on State Route 104 in the town of Mexico.

At approximately 7:15 a.m. today (Feb. 17), a 1997 Chevrolet Tahoe, operated by John R. Quackenbush, 57, from Parish, was traveling westbound on Route 104 when a 2003 Dodge Ram pickup truck, operated by Cody T. Pruett, 23, from Lacona, traveling eastbound, lost control and crossed over into the westbound lane striking Quackenbush head-on, troopers said.

Pruett was transported to Oswego Hospital with non-life threatening injuries, troopers said.

Quackenbush was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The investigation is continuing.
