OSWEGO, NY – An afternoon rain shower didn’t dampen the egg-citement for hundreds of children Saturday morning.

Close to 600 children “hunted” for colorful plastic Easter eggs scattered around Oswego’s Breitbeck Park – mostly in plain sight.
This year’s event was conducted by the Kiwanis Club.
The youngest children raced out into the egg laden park at 10 a.m. By 10:05 a.m., the eggs were procured and the kids headed back to their parents to display their goodies.
Ages 6 – 8 sprinted after the eggs at 11 a.m. Noon was the starting time for the 9 – 11 year olds.
When their time period was over, the youngsters received a goody bag.
The also got a raffle ticket.
Winners of the bikes were Mason Skye and Sophie Henson.
“Everyone had a great time. We’ve received lots of nice comments on the Facebook page,” said volunteer Jennifer Losurdo. “They liked the different times for different ages. I estimate about 550 kids for real. The parents were awesome this year. Thanks to Performance Fitness for keeping everybody in line!”
“This was fun!” exclaimed one of the youngsters in the 6-8 year old group. He found so many eggs that added that he gave his sister some.
