OSWEGO – Mayor Billy Barlow reminds the public today (June 29) to celebrate the Fourth of July in Oswego by attending the Independence Day Parade and enjoying free concerts, festivities and fireworks in Breitbeck Park Sunday evening.
The Fourth of July Independence Day Parade begins at 1 p.m. on July 1, starting at Oswego High School along Liberty Street, heading east on State Route 104/Bridge Street and turning north on East Seventh Street, ending at Fort Ontario.

Bounce houses, face painting, a magician and food concessions will be in Breitbeck Park during the concerts with fireworks over the Oswego Harbor launching at 9:45 p.m. by Pyrotecnico.
“The city of Oswego Fourth of July Independence Day Celebration is a long, rich tradition. We are looking forward to the parade through downtown Oswego and the fireworks over the Oswego Harbor and I encourage our residents to get out and enjoy the festivities and celebrate this very special American holiday!” Mayor Barlow said.
City officials estimate the parade will last approximately two hours and would like to remind attendees to stay hydrated and plan for the forecasted hot, humid weather.
