OSWEGO – On Monday, April 14th, at the Oswego Common Council meeting, Mayor Robert Corradino read proclamations for the SUNY Oswego Men’s Hockey team and Arbor Day, April 25th, 2025.
“It is a privilege for me tonight to recognize an extraordinary accomplishment that brings pride and excitement to our city,” said Corradino. Corradino applauded the team’s grit and determination on their journey to the SUNYAC Championship.
The Lakers defeated Plattsburgh 5-2 on March 8th. The victory earned SUNY Oswego its 11th SUNYAC Men’s Ice Hockey, Oswego’s first since 2014. The team and coach gathered up to take a photo with the Mayor, where he passed out city pins so that the players will remember their time in Oswego.
Corradino reported to the meeting that it is Animal Control Officer week in his Mayor Report. “I didn’t know until somebody pointed it out to me yesterday,” said Corradino. The Mayor hopes to highlight the animal control officers in Oswego with a proclamation.
The proclamation praised the role of animal control officers. “They serve as first responders for cases involving neglect and abuse,” said Corradino. He thanked the officers for their empathy and thanked them for their contributions.
