Missing Palermo Man, Entrenched in Swamp, Located by State Police K9

On Sunday June 9, at approximately 1:45 p.m., State Police in Fulton responded to a residence on Lot 10 Road in the town of Palermo for a report of a 71-year-old man, with dementia who had left the residence at 9:30 a.m. on foot and had not returned.

Troopers along with members from the Oswego County Search and Rescue responded to the scene.

At approximately 5 p.m., Trooper Jeffrey Kissock with K9 “Ray” located the man a mile from the residence in a heavily wooded area, entrenched in a swamp.

The man was transported to Oswego Hospital for a medical evaluation.

State Police K9 along with members from NYS Forest Rangers, and the Oswego County Search and Rescue Team assisted in the search.
