OCSD Employee Arrested For An Alleged False Report To Police

OSWEGO – Today, May 26, Oswego Police reported that an Oswego City School District employee was arrested after investigating a false report he made.

On May 26, 2022, at 12:41 p.m., the Oswego Police Department was dispatched to 2 Buccaneer Blvd, the Oswego High School, on a request by the Oswego County Sheriff’s Office School Resource officer.

It was reported to police by a high school employee that an unknown male tried to force their way into the high school building. The employee stated they were shoved by the unknown male when they stopped him from entering. The employee then stated the male was unable to gain access to the building and fled on foot.

An immediate response was initiated by both city and county units along with US Border Patrol Agents to the area. An extensive search was completed but responding units were unable to locate the individual.

Oswego Police officers, working in conjunction with the Oswego County Sheriff’s Office and members of the Oswego City School District conducted an immediate investigation determining that the report of the attempted entry was false.

As a result of the investigation, Brian Parrotte, age 55 of Oswego, who is an employee of the school district was arrested by the Oswego Police Department and charged with falsely reporting an incident in the third degree, a class A misdemeanor (NYS Penal Law 240.50-03) and endangering the welfare of a child, a class A misdemeanor (NYS Penal Law 260.10-01).

Mr. Parrotte was processed and released on an appearance ticket due back to Oswego City Court on June 16, 2022, at 9:30am.
