On Jan. 11, at 4:20 p.m., 17-year-old Austen J. Peterson, of 191 W. Fifth St., Oswego, was arrested and charged with fifth-degree criminal possession of marijuana (B misdemeanor).

Peterson’s arrest was the result of an ongoing Anti-Crime Team investigation, based on information received from concerned citizen(s) indicating that Peterson was selling marijuana.
Upon Anti-Crime Team members interviewing Peterson at his residence, Peterson reportedly admitted that he had been selling marijuana for some time.
Police also seized approximately 36 grams of marijuana, and $673 in cash, from Peterson’s residence.
Peterson was processed and released on an appearance ticket with a return court date of Feb. 9 at 9:30 a.m.
On Feb. 2, at approximately 3:42 p.m., 50-year-old Roy G. Lovine Sr., of 36 W. Fourth St., upper apartment, was arrested and charged with one count each of third-degree criminal possession of a weapon (D felony), fifth-degree criminal possession of stolen property (A misdemeanor) and unlawful possession of marijuana (violation).

As a result of information developed during the course of other drug investigations, the Anti-Crime Team interviewed Lovine at his residence.
As a result of that interview, police obtained consent to search the residence.
The search reportedly resulted in the seizure of several items, including a Mossberg .22 caliber rifle, $1,257 in cash, a custom .44 caliber black powder handgun, prescription medications in unmarked pill bottles, a small quantity of marijuana, and numerous items of drug paraphernalia consistent with the use and /or sale of marijuana.
Lovine was arraigned in Oswego City Court and remanded to the Oswego County Correctional Facility in lieu of $1,000 cash bail or $2,000 bail bond.
He is scheduled to return to court on March 6, at 9:30 a.m.
