Oswego Bicyclist Injured, Motorist Charged

OSWEGO TOWN – On Friday, December 9, at approximately 10:30 p.m., members of the Oswego County Sheriff’s Office responded to a serious physical injury car versus bicycle accident on State Route 104 in the Town of Oswego.

Faith M. Dechick, 32, of Auburn, was operating a 2007 Chevrolet Tahoe eastbound on State Route 104 near West Lake Road in the Town of Oswego when she struck William E. Todd, 56, of Oswego, who was operating a motorized bicycle traveling eastbound on State Route 104.

Todd was transported by Menter Ambulance to Oswego Hospital for treatment of his injuries.

As a result of the initial investigation, Dechick was arrested for Reckless Driving, Driving While Ability Impaired, and Assault in the Second Degree.

The Oswego Town Volunteer Fire Department, Menter Ambulance and SUNY Oswego Police Department assisted with the incident.

The accident remains under investigation.
