OSWEGO, NY – At its meeting Monday night, the Common Council sailed through a relatively light agenda.
Mayor Tom Gillen and members of the Common Council announced that the council meetings and committee meetings are now available for viewing on the day following the meeting date, on the link to the YouTube channel, https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCjp9sVSSFncexdl9vFNwqCQ.
The public can also do a YouTube channel search for “City of Oswego” and the meetings will show up in this search as well.
Live broadcasts of the meetings are still being arranged through Time Warner Cable, the mayor pointed out.
As soon as they are available, the city will make that announcement, he added.

Monday night, the council approved closing West First Street between West Bridge and Oneida streets on Sunday afternoons from June 15 to August 31 for the “Mugs and Motors” social event.
The event will bring all types of vehicles and business to downtown Oswego on a day that is usually not that busy, according the event organizer Anne Backer.
Councilors Fran Enwright and Mike Todd, First and Third wards, respectively, praised the initiative.
The council also approved use of public space for:
The use of the Oswego Riverwalk West area for the Springboard Mural Project was also approved.
Councilors approved use of a portion of Washington Square Park (East Park) by the Masonic Lodge on July 6 following the parade.
The mayor was authorized to sign Change Order No. 2 with C.O. Falter Construction Corp. for project modifications to the West Side EFMF and Pump Station Upgrade Project.
He was also authorized to enter into a contract with Dr. Kenneth Hodgson for a new Animal Shelter veterinarian.
He was also authorized to enter into a professional services agreement with Monroe County for the 2014 Northern Border Maritime Exercise.
The city chamberlain was authorized to sign the Financial Advisory Services Agreement with Fiscal Advisors and Marketing, Inc.
The purchasing agent was authorized to seek bids for the installation of a new sanitary sewer on East Tenth and a Half Street from East Seneca to East Cayuga Street.
The councilors approved enrollment in the HGAC Buy National Cooperative purchasing program.
The council OK’d a transfer of funds
However, a resolution to transfer funds from the Contingent Account to CDA 6420 Account was defeated 0-7.
