OSWEGO, NY – The Oswego Common Council breezed through a rather light agenda Monday night.
Two amendments to the city’s charter were approved.
The council OK’d the proposed amendment to the Code of the City of Oswego, Chapter 165, Noise, Section 165-4(K), Parties and Other Social Events; and the proposed amendment to the Code of the City of Oswego, Chapter 249, Vacant and Occupied Property Maintenance, Section 249-10.1, Emergency Conditions.

Councilors also approved use of public space for:
The closing of a portion of Hamilton and Church streets between the east line of Maple Street and the west line of Elm Street (first closing), was approved. A similar resolution must be passed next year for the closing to become official.
The council authorized the mayor to:
The fire department was authorized to apply for the Staffing for Adequate Fire and Emergency Response FEMA grant.
Councilors accepted the bid submitted by Burritt Motors of Oswego for a new pickup truck for use by the fire department.
