OSWEGO, NY – At its meeting Monday night, the Common Council approved ARISE’s request to use West Park for a “Light Up The Night” Run/Walk event to be held on September 13.

“We want to conduct an event that is rather unique and unusual for this area. It’s called Light Up The Night. It is an event that takes off at dusk. It is a 5K, the first part of the event is a run and our route is from Franklin Square over to the fort,” Jim Karasek, manager of independent living services, of ARISE said. “The runners take off first and the walkers follow a couple of minutes later. The runners will complete the entire 5K with no stops and the walkers will have a stop. Please join us. This is one of those events that you will want to share with others.”
