OSWEGO – Oswego County government officials are seeking input from the public on the design and features of a new government website.

The county Department of Community Development, Tourism and Planning is coordinating the project.

Up to 100 people can take part in a short informal survey by following a link at https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/CH5YYBJ.

Director Dave Turner said results from the survey will be used to develop a scope of services as the county prepares a request for proposals for the new site.

Residents will rank features such as paying taxes on line, scheduling appointments, applying for permits, and similar features.

The department is working with members of the County Legislature and county departments to develop a site that meets the needs of citizens and departments.

“Twenty years ago, Oswego County was one of the first counties in the state to develop a government website,” Turner said. “The site has served us well, but it no longer meets the needs of our departments and constituents. Our goal is to develop a more efficient and more cost-effective site that is easier to navigate and update, and that provides a broad range of services to citizens.”

Those interested in participating in the survey are asked to complete it by Dec. 1.
