OSWEGO – Mayor Billy Barlow announced that he and Oswego Police Chief Tory DeCaire will host two “Coffee with the Mayor and Police Chief” events at both the east and west side Dunkin Donuts in Oswego.
The focus of the planned events will be to provide an informal, comfortable setting for residents to raise their concerns, ask questions and provide suggestions to the mayor and police chief on the issues facing the community.
“Residents need their community leaders to be accessible and to understand what is occurring in our neighborhoods and on our streets every day. The best way to do that is to listen directly to the residents, face to face, and hear their concerns, understand their issues and consider their suggestions on how to make our neighborhoods and streets a safer place for all,” said Mayor Barlow. “This is an opportunity for residents to come visit and talk about any issue that may be on their mind. We will take the information we hear, and it will help us better serve our constituents.”
Chief DeCaire noted how helpful hearing the ideas and concerns directly from residents can be when patrolling the community.
The coffee hours will be an informal opportunity for residents to come and go as they please with no set agenda.
The location, date and times are as follows:
Thursday May 19, 9-11 a.m. – east side Dunkin Donuts – 105 State Route 104.
Thursday June 2, 9-11 a.m. west side Dunkin Donuts -255 W. Seneca St.
