UPDATE – Oswego River Incident 3am

OSWEGO – The deceased female found in the vehicle has been tentatively identified as –

Tahiana F. Rakotonanahary – 24 yr old – Syracuse NY

The vehicle removed from the river was a gray, 2020 Buick Enclave that was registered to Rakotonanahary.   The vehicle was last seen at approximately 3:30 am travelling East on West Schuyler Street. Investigators are working on the timeline that led up to the accident and are asking anyone with any information or security video to contact Investigator Zackary Quinones at 315-342-8120. At the direction of the Oswego County Coroner, Rakotonanahary was transported to the Onondaga County Medical Examiner’s Office.


OSWEGO – At 3:39 am, City of Oswego Police and Fire Departments were dispatched to the area of W. Schuyler and W. First St. for a reported vehicle in the Oswego River. A search was conducted and a vehicle was later located submerged in approximately 22 feet of water. A deceased female and the vehicle have been recovered. An updated press release will be issued once family notifications and preliminary investigation is completed.
