Pedestrian Struck By Vehicle, In Serious Condition

UPDATE: The street reopened shortly before midnight

OSWEGO – At about 6:17 p.m. today (Sept. 14), the Oswego City Police Department was dispatched to a report of a pedestrian being struck by a vehicle at the intersection of East Bridge and Sixth streets.

A 32-year-old woman was struck by a small SUV, police report.

The pedestrian, whose name can not be released pending notification, was unconscious.

She was transported by Mentor Ambulance to Fulton where she was then transported to Upstate Medical Center, Syracuse, by Mercy Flight with serious injuries.

The driver and occupants of the vehicle didn’t suffer any injury, according to police.

The Oswego Police Department, Oswego Fire Department, Mentor Ambulance, Mercy Flight and the Oswego County Sheriff’s Department all assisted with the incident.

Also be advised State Route 104 will be closed between East Seventh and East Fifth streets until the scene is cleared.

The collision is still under investigation.
