UPDATED INFORMATION:
On Monday, June 26, 2017, at approximately 12:30 p.m., the New York State Police Underwater Recovery Team recovered two bodies from Lake Ontario.
The individuals have been identified as 18-year-old Lorenz Greenwood Coinco and 14-year-old, Andrew J. Stevenson both from Watertown, NY.
An autopsy is scheduled to determine the official cause of death.
The investigation is continuing.
UPDATE 1:40 PM 6-26-17: State Police report two bodies have been recovered.
The victims, who police believe were pulled into the water by a large wave, have not been identified.
It is not known where the boys are from.
The bodies will be taken to the Onondaga County Medical Examiner’s Office.

On Sunday, June 25, at approximately 3:30 p.m., State Police responded to the Robert G. Wehle State Park in Henderson regarding two male subjects in Lake Ontario in distress approximately 30 yards off shore.
The investigation revealed an 18-year-old boy and a 14-year-old boy were last seen just off shore going under water.
Lake Ontario waves were averaging 4-5 feet high and extremely turbulent.
A search was conducted by State Police aviation along with members from the US Coast Guard, NYS Park Police, NYS Environmental Conservation and Forest Rangers, Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office and the Jefferson County Fire & Emergency Management with negative results.
State Police were assisted at the scene by the Henderson Fire Department, Watertown Fire Department, Belleville Fire Department and the Adams Fire Department.
Search boats continued to search throughout the night.
A full scale search resumed at daybreak.
